Salvation Army of Bowling Green launches new campaign in response to higher food-assistance requests

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Salvation Army of Bowling Green unveiled a new food-assistance campaign on Tuesday.
According to a release, the social service provider has launched “Feed Hope. Share Love.” The campaign encourages more local donations.
The Salvation Army of Bowling Green says that food-assistance requests are three to five times higher in recent weeks.
“With grocery and utility prices continuing to strain family budgets, we’re seeing many of our neighbors turning to us for the first time,” said Captain Johnny Horton, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army of Bowling Green. “Our faith calls us to feed the hungry and serve those in need, and we’re confident our community will come together once again to make that possible.”
The release states that The Salvation Army provides the community with lunches Monday through Friday, a fruit and vegetable box distribution every Monday and Thursday at 10:00 am, and a food box distribution on the first Thursday of each month.
