Salvation Army in Bowling Green encourages Angel Tree donations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Salvation Army in Bowling Green is calling on the community to lend a helping hand by providing gifts to children and seniors in need this Christmas.
According to a release by the Salvation Army, the Angel Tree Program allows individuals to “adopt” angels, supplying gifts to those that may otherwise go without.
“Thanks to the incredible support of this community, many Angels have already been adopted, but there’s still so much to do,” said Capt. Monica Horton, corps officer of The Salvation Army in Bowling Green. “We are deeply grateful for your kindness and ask for your help to ensure every Angel experiences the magic of Christmas. Together, we can make a difference.”
The release says 75 angels have still not been adopted, and several hundred angels have been adopted but have not had gifts returned.
Here’s how you can help, according to the Salvation Army:
- Adopt an angel by visiting an Angel Tree location at the Greenwood Mall, TJ Maxx or Walmart at 150 Walton Lane.
- If you’ve adopted an angel, bring the gifts for them by noon on Saturday, Dec. 14 to the Salvation Army suite inside the Greenwood Mall next to Dillard’s. This allows the group to organize gifts and distribute them to families before Christmas.
- Donate to the Virtual Red Kettle at www.SalvationArmyBowlingGreen.org.
