Salad dressings recalled due to possibly containing ‘foreign objects’

Ventura Foods LLC is recalling some of its salad dressings that were distributed in multiple states, including Kentucky, due to concerns of the products containing “foreign objects.”
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, more than 3,500 cases of salad dressing are impacted due to the potential presence of black plastic planting material in granulated onion.
The FDA states the product was distributed to retailers in several states, including Kentucky, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Virginia, Missouri, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Washington, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, Ohio, North Dakota and Oregon.
In addition, the FDA report states the product was distributed to one customer in Costa Rica.
The company’s following products are impacted, according to the FDA:
- Italian Salad Dressing
- Creamy Poblano Avocado Ranch Dressing and Dip
- Ventura Caesar Dressing
- Pepper Mill Regal Caesar Dressing
- Pepper Mill Creamy Caesar Dressing
- Caesar Dressing (Costco Service Deli)
- Caesar Dressing (Costco Food Court)
- Professional Hidden Valley® Original Buttermilk Ranch Dressing & Dip (one-gallon size)
According to a statement from a representative with Hidden Valley Ranch, “no Hidden Valley Ranch products sold in stores to consumers are included in the voluntary recall. A professional Hidden Valley® Original Buttermilk Ranch Dressing & Dip (one-gallon size), intended solely for food service and that was never distributed, was listed in a voluntary recall initiated by Ventura Foods, a third-party partner that manufactures this product.”
