Ryan Quarles to officially file for governor race Thursday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Earlier today, Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles announced new details on his Governor’s campaign while attending the Fruit and Vegetable Conference at the Sloan Convention Center.
Quarles says he will officially file for his Governor’s run on Thursday at the State Capitol and release his endorsements.
He has been the Ag Commissioner for the past seven years. He says he has three goals for the remainder of his term: to run his department efficiently, improve the department to leave it in the best shape for the next team, and to be remembered as effective during disasters.
Quarles mentioned that Kentucky has not had a Governor from rural Kentucky in more than two decades.
“I think it’s really important we have a Governor that has rural roots but can work and support our urban areas as well. I think rural Kentucky is motivated right now and they want a leader who has some dirt on their boots and can represent them well in Frankfort,” said Quarles.
The election is 19 weeks from today. Quarles said he will be visiting every single county with his ‘People’s First’ campaign.
