Russellville woman pleads not guilty in rape, child abuse case

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Russellville woman is pleading not guilty in a case that involves charges of rape, sodomy and child abuse.
According to an indictment filed on June 10, Julia Anderson, 44, of Russellville has been indicted on charges of third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under, menacing and fourth-degree assault (child abuse).
On Monday, July 14, court records state Anderson entered a not guilty plea.
The indictment further states Anderson “intentionally abused” a minor under the age of 12 at the time of one incident. In addition, the indictment states Anderson “engaged in sexual intercourse” with a minor at least 10 years younger than her at the time multiple times.
Anderson’s menacing charge also stems from allegedly head butting a juvenile, according to the indictment. The document also states Anderson intentionally injured a juvenile, resulting in an assault charge.
Anderson remains at the Logan County Detention Center on a combined cash bond of $75,000.
Anderson is scheduled for a pretrial conference at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 14.
