Russellville woman injured in crash after trying to avoid deer

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- A Russellville woman was injured Monday after authorities said she crashed her vehicle into a utility pole and tree.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred in the 4800 block of Clarksville Rd. around 5:30 a.m.

Authorities said the driver, Amy Graves, 41, swerved to avoid a deer in the road, before she lost control and crashed.

Graves was originally taken to Logan Memorial Hospital, but was later airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville due to the extent of her injuries.

Her condition is not known at this time.
