Russellville traffic stop results in drug trafficking charge

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Russellville.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop was conducted after observing a vehicle with a non-illuminated license plate on Bowling Green Road on Saturday evening.
Deputies say Halious Isbell, 60 of Scottsville, is identified as the vehicle operator.
Upon contact with Isbell, deputies say a strong odor of marijuana was present in the vehicle. Isbell allegedly told deputies he had smoked marijuana inside the car on the previous day. Deputies say a search of Isbell was conducted and Isbell was found to possess a glass pipe suspected for use of smoking methamphetamine.
Deputies searched Isbell’s car and located multiple bags of marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, a scale, and a pill bottle containing one Gabapentin pill.
The suspected methamphetamine weighs approximately 10 grams.
Isbell is charged with having a rear license not illuminated, insufficient headlamps, first-degree possession of a controlled substance second-offense (methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking a controlled substance first-offense (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana second-offense, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia deliver-manufacture, and third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
Isbell is lodged at the Logan County Jail.
