Russellville Rural Fire Station 5 getting face lift
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Russellville Rural Fire Station 5 is getting a new face lift, and the firefighters and community are excited to see the final results.
During the cold winter months, the station received some water damage and decided it was time to upgrade the station, which hadn’t seen renovations since its construction 26 years ago.
The station received new flooring, a new kitchen and common area and an upgraded bathroom, which is still undergoing renovations. On the exterior, a porch has been added, and new doors the garage have been ordered and will be installed soon.
After insurance, the department spent around $50,000 of its own money to complete the renovations. Chief Cheryl Allen tells News 40 that they are thankful for the community and are blessed to be able to renovate.
They are hoping to complete the renovations in time for their anniversary celebration later in the year.
