RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. — The Russellville Rural Fire Department held a special roll-in celebration Tuesday evening to unveil its new truck.

Community members gathered to help roll the new engine into the station before it was officially placed into service.

The custom-made truck functions as both a fire engine and a water tanker. Officials say it will make responding to emergencies easier, especially in rural parts of the county where access to water is limited.

The year-long process to secure the truck is now complete. Thanks to grants and community donations, the department was able to purchase its first-ever new, custom-built truck.
