Russellville Rural Fire battles brush fire

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – The Russellville Rural Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Hopkinsville Road on Monday.

RRFD states a roadside fire that spread into a nearby bean field, but units quickly contained it, limiting damage.

Authorities want to remind residents that recent rainfall hasn’t fully saturated the ground, making it easy for fires to start and spread.

They urge caution, even in counties where burn bans have been lifted
