Russellville police warn of phone scams
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- The Russellville Police Department is warning the residents it protects and serves of a phone scam going around the community.
According to the law enforcement agency, one scammer is claiming to be from the social security office and is requesting personal information, including your social security number.
Police have also received a report of someone claiming to be from the police department, saying there are warrants out for your arrest. Police say the caller ID says the phone call is actually coming from the police department.
Police in Russellville say they will never call when a warrant has been issued.
You should never give out personal information over the telephone to a stranger.
