Russellville Middle School students get interactive experience voting

RUSSELLVILLE Ky.-A local middle school is offering students the chance to experience voting firsthand.

Students at Russellville Middle School had the chance to fill out mock ballots for president and senate in the school’s gym. This is the second year for this experience.

This is for social studies class, where the students research and decide which candidate they would vote for if they were of age to vote in official elections.

School staff say this is a great chance to teach the students why it’s important to exercise their right to vote once they’re of age. One teacher says she wishes she could have experienced this at the student’s age.
