Traffic stop leads to drug arrests in Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Two Russellville men are behind bars after authorities say the driver nearly struck multiple vehicles.
According to a uniform citation, the Adairville Police Department observed a vehicle turn onto 431 South traveling southbound on Tuesday night.
Authorities say the vehicle began to cross the center line multiple times, nearly striking several vehicles.
Police say they initiated a traffic stop and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 32-year-old Quinton Posey of Russellville, was asked to exit the vehicle.
Authorities say they located cocaine in Posey’s possession during a search, and he was placed under arrest. In addition, police say the passenger of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Emmanuel Leavell of Russellville, also possessed cocaine. Leavell was also arrested.
Posey faces charges of reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, first offense, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (cocaine) and comm drivers license – conviction improper or erratic lane change.
Leavell is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (cocaine).
Both remain at the Logan County Detention Center.
