Russellville man charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse of minor

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Logan County man is charged with attempted rape and sexual abuse of a minor.
According to a Logan Circuit Court indictment filed on Aug. 18, Demarcus Boyd, 47, of Russellville is charged with two counts of first-degree attempted rape of a victim under the age of 12.
Boyd allegedly attempted to engage in sexual intercourse with a female juvenile on two occasions on or between October 7, 2017, and January 22, 2018.
Boyd is also charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 12.
The indictment alleges Boyd subjected the female juvenile to sexual contact on two occasions on or between October 7, 2017, and January 22, 2018.
A warrant was issued on Aug. 18, and Boyd was taken into custody on Aug. 20.
Boyd was lodged at the Logan County Jail and has since been released on a cash bond of $10,000.
