Russellville man charged after allegedly stealing truck and returning it

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Russellville man is facing charges after a reported truck theft.

According to a uniform citation, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded at 5:30 a.m. Sunday the the area of Morgantown Road and Anderson Store Road regarding a vehicle blocking the roadway.

While driving to the scene, deputies say they were notified the vehicle was driving through fences and gates.

Authorities say they were later told one caller advised surveillance video showed an individual, identified as Bradford Belcher, 46, of Russellville, stealing their truck and returning it with heavy front end damage.

Deputies say it appeared that the truck had hit an animal before it was returned.

Upon arrival, authorities say they saw heavy damage to an iron gate.

Belcher was detained. Authorities say he showed signs of being manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance.

Belcher is charged with second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $10,000 and $1,000,000, second-degree criminal trespassing, first-degree criminal mischief and public intoxication – controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

He remains at the Logan County Jail.
