R&S Northeast opens new distribution facility in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. – A new pharmaceutical distribution hub has officially opened its doors in Barren County. R&S Northeast celebrated the grand opening of its Glasgow facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning.

The state-of-the-art warehouse will specialize in distributing medications and health products to pharmacies, hospitals and other healthcare providers nationwide. In addition to strengthening the healthcare supply chain, company leaders say the expansion will also bring new jobs and economic opportunities to the Glasgow community.

“We believe in Barren County,” said Karolann Sharp, president of R&S Northeast. “It’s near and dear to my heart. I graduated from Barren County High School, and so it’s very exciting to be able to bring the opportunities and the fruits of growth and economic growth to this area.”

Sharp also noted the long planning process behind the project, which more than triples the company’s warehouse capacity.

“At 62,000 square feet of warehouse space – that we’ve been able to expand to from about 20,000 – this is going to give us the capacity to grow with our future and our vision,” Sharp said.

The new facility is located at 194 American Ave. in Glasgow.
