Rollercoaster Yard Sale 2023 has something for everyone, from clothing to pork rinds

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Rollercoaster Yard Sale is back this year and stretches across Barren County with well over 100 sellers in the section of Highway 63 from Siloam Road to Temple Hill.
The annual event brings out everyone from sellers to those who peddle other wares, such as pork rinds.
Starting on Siloam Road just outside of Glasgow, Staci Sigler is one of the first houses one will encounter. Sigler has been selling in the yard sale for over 12 years and says that the sale has a big economic impact on her life.
“I see my brother’s doing it with his kids, like selling all their stuff. So I was like, okay, well, I can do this with my daughter’s leftover stuff, make money. So as I seen how good it was doing, I was like, ‘okay, that’s going to be Christmas money.’ So I don’t have to use our earnings from our jobs or anything. I can just use leftover yard sale stuff,” Sigler said.
Further down the road, a relatively new addition that popped up roughly two years ago, Furry Farmhouse Dog Boarding owner Nick Pace decided that setting up their yard sale in the parking lot of their business would not only make their sale easier to access, but might drive some business as well.
“Last year, we noticed there was a, uh, abnormal amount of traffic this, uh, this particular weekend. And also, we thought this would be a good time to be able to set up a yard sale and, uh, sell some items and hopefully get some spending money,” Pace said.
Further still, many travelers and shoppers may start to get a little hungry along the rural route. Darlene White and her family have hungry travelers covered as they sell their gallon bags of fresh pork rinds made on site while you shop.
“Well, this bunch here is my family. I got my grandson working, my husband working, and a friend of ours are working, so,” White said.
There was even more to explore and some great finds to be found at the yard sale. The event continues through the weekend.
