Roads improving but still show hazardous conditions, transportation officials say

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has released an update on road conditions in the District 3 area.
As of Monday shortly after 10:30 a.m., transportation officials say crews are still clearing roadways by priority route and that hazardous driving conditions continue. The U.S. National Weather Service Louisville issued a Winter Weather Advisory that still remains in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
However, transportation officials say while main routes have shown large improvement, rural routes may take several days to show improvement.
A secondary winter weather system is set to cause more snow in the area Monday afternoon into the early evening.
Glasgow Police Department major Terry Flatt stated Monday morning around 9:15 a.m. that, according to city officials, priority roads traffic is flowing with a snow and slush mix. Flatt stated residential areas are still snow covered and are hard to travel.
He said crews have been out around 24 hours in the Glasgow area and continue to work.
If you must be out, you are encouraged to proceed with caution and drive under the speed limit with plenty of space between vehicles.
