Rich Pond elementary to be upgraded
BOWLING GREEN Ky. – An elementary school in Warren County will be getting a new look.
Rich Pond Elementary will undergo construction to add more resources to the school.
This $16.8 million project will add 16 additional classrooms. As of now, the cafeteria and the gymnasium occupy the same space. The new construction will separate the two.
Rich Pond Elementary is one of the district’s oldest buildings, being built in the 1950s. Knowing that, school officials are thrilled that the building will be evolving.
“We’re extremely excited. This building has been around for generations. We’ve seen a ton of kiddos come through it, and there’s so many success stories out of this building. We can’t wait for the next phase of this building to take off and start to see it take ground,” said Warren County Schools District chief financial officer Chris McIntyre.
A start date for construction is pending approval from the Kentucky Department of Education.
