Ribbon cutting held for GoBG Transit Center renovations
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Some new upgrades to the GoBG Transit Center have officially been made, and the center is now open to the public.
The project cost a total of $1.7 million to complete, with staff saying the center was getting old and needed some renovations.
A ribbon cutting was held Thursday for the center, as general manager Tim McWhorter says this helps make transportation in Bowling Green for those that need it a lot easier and more accessible.
“It made the facility more ADA accessible for our passengers and customers that come in and purchase bus tickets when they’re here at the transfer center. It also made the transit center more functional for transit services. We were able to come together as a team and be more together instead of the buildings were separated at one point. So we’re able to actually work together as more of a team to provide the transit services for Bowling Green,” he says.
The center is located on the corner of East 11th Avenue and Center Street, and is ready to help BG go anywhere they need to in the city.
