Reservoir Hill park to get new upgrades this fall

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- After setbacks due to weather, the Reservoir Hill park’s new playground installation is nearing completion.

The project was announced back in March and was set to open Spring of this year. But due to the rain, the construction was delayed and is now nearing the end of construction.

New slides, swing sets, benches and fences are all put in.

This new, nature-themed playground is considerably bigger than the previous one. The old playground was about a third of the size of the one that is in the process of being put together.

Though it is not open yet, once the turf is put in and some other finishing touches are made, it will be ready to go. Bowling Green Parks and Recreation even has a special event planned for its grand opening.

Hayley Parrett, parks planner at BG Parks and Rec, provided a comment regarding the state of the new playground.

She said that workers have been onsite the past couple of weeks and the turf will be getting installed in the coming weeks.

Parrett also added, “We will be adding turf the upcoming weeks and after that we will have a grand celebration opening the park and block party here at Reservoir Hill.”

Barring any other setbacks or weather changes, the new playground will be set to open in mid October.
