Repurposed ambulance serves as new unit for Horse Cave Fire Department

HART COUNTY, Ky. – The Horse Cave Fire Department now has a new unit added to its response team.
The department says an ambulance that was serving the county for EMS services has been repurposed to replace a prior unit.
The unit now has a new look and redesigned patient compartment, the department says.
The Horse Cave Fire Department says the setup allows it to transport all of its equipment for wrecks, hazardous spills, water rescues, rope rescues, medical calls, weather-related hazards and new battery-powered extrication equipment that will be delivered soon.
In addition, the department says the unit will offer a warm and dry area for people on emergencies during severe weather.
