Reported gas leak causes road closure in Hart County

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – A reported gas leak on Monday caused a multi-agency response in Hart County.
According to Munfordville Fire and Rescue, the Munfordville Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a gas leak on Lawler Road.
Upon arrival, officials say they located an underground propane tank with damage that was venting liquid propane.
Officials say the road was closed until the area was considered safe as air quality was monitored.
The fire department says it was assisted by the Bonnieville Fire Department, Horse Cave Fire Department, Munfordville Police Department, Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Hart County Emergency Management, Hart County Rescue Squad, Hart County EMS, Farmer’s Propane and TPM Group.
Units remains on scene for about nine hours total.
