Rep. Brett Guthrie hosts art contest reception at Barren County High School

GLASGOW, Ky. – Representative Brett Guthrie made a stop in Barren County Tuesday to hand out awards for his annual district-wide art contest.

Students from any school in the second Congressional district can enter. The first place overall winner gets their artwork displayed in the Capitol building, while other winners have their works displayed in Guthrie’s offices in both Washington and Bowling Green.

Representative Guthrie says he’s proud to offer a way for students to express themselves creatively.

“It’s great… it’s just to celebrate… people are talented in different ways, and the fact I have no ability whatsoever to draw anything and just seeing the artwork that’s submitted, how well it’s done, how… what people are trying to express it is a really great program to have and I’m proud to be helpful,” Guthrie says.

He is also set to host an app challenge, which News 40 will bring you coverage of.
