Remains identified as woman reported missing over 8 years ago, KSP says

BIG CREEK, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police says it has positively identified remains as a woman reported missing more than eight years ago.

Troopers say on March 27, 2016, they received a report that Angela “Toot Toot” Smith, 30, of Big Creek, Kentucky was missing by family members in Clay County.

On March 6, 2021, the Kentucky State Police says KSP Post 11 London received a call of human remains located in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Big Creek.

After exhaustive testing, authorities say the remains were positively identified as those of Smith.

Troopers say they suspect foul play at this time. This investigation is ongoing by detective Logan Gay.
