Relay for Life kicks off

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- The American Cancer Society kicked off Relay For Life Tuesday.

The event itself will take place in May at Bowling Green Ballpark, and the American Cancer Society is using this time to hear from those who have participated in Relay For Life, as well as putting members into different support groups before the event.

Trish Seifert is a long time participant in Relay For Life, and it all started when she watched her friend struggle with cancer.

“The very first time I dealt with cancer at all was like in 1996. My best friend had cancer and passed away from it. When I moved down here, I joined Relay For Life for that reason, in 1998,” Seifert said.

Relay For Life of Warren County is ranked number one Relay for Life in the state of Kentucky, number one in the region and number 17 in the entire nation. Seifert emphasizes that this is all because of support.
