Red Cross seeking blood donations this summer, actor speaks out
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-The pandemic has affected organizations like The Red Cross, and for that reason, they need your help this summer.
As we start to return to some form of normal, the Red Cross is looking to get caught up with blood donation numbers. So much so that actor James Van Der Beek is speaking out.
Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly was saved by blood transfusions, which is why he’s an advocate for giving blood. There are plenty of ways to do that here in South-Central Kentucky.
“There’s one thing you can do that literally goes directly to saving somebody’s life, and that’s giving blood. It’s giving something of yourself. It’s taking your health and saying, I’m going to give this gift of life to somebody in need,” Van Der Beek said.
