Red Cross gives out free weather radios at Plano Fire Department
PLANO, Ky. – The Red Cross wants to make sure you’re aware of any severe weather like what we saw Thursday morning.
At the Plano Fire Department, they were giving out free weather radios to the public.
A presentation was given talking about how to use it and what scenarios it alerts you for.
The Red Cross stresses the importance of having a weather radio in the event of power cutting out.
“We can’t be informed and act upon something if you’re unaware of it. We rely on social media, we rely on our newscasters to let us know when there’s impending weather. That might not always be available. You might not be around your phone when those warnings go off or you might be in an isolated area of Warren County that you don’t hear them,” Ciara West of the Red Cross’ Disaster Relief says.
If you missed out, no need to worry. They’ll be back at the Plano Fire Department Saturday morning at 10.
