Record travel numbers expected for July Fourth
New numbers show that this Fourth of July could be the most traveled in history.
According to AAA, nearly 49 million Americans plan to celebrate America’s birthday with an Independence Day getaway this year.
Overall, the group is estimating a 4.1 percent rise in travelers over last year, totaling 1.9 million more people.
Drivers could face delays as much as four times a normal commute, with Wednesday being the worst day on the roads.
AAA says lower gas prices and low unemployment are to thank for the higher number of travelers this year.
