Recap of drug crime progress by the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The year has just started, but it’s already pretty active for the department and drug dealers in the area.

News 40 spoke to Tommy Loving, director of the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, who said on Wednesday that it’s too early to tell, but January and February have certainly been busy.

As it stands, the department has brought in 6,000 fentanyl pills compared to just 6,200 in 2023. Loving said numbers go up and down all of the time, mentioning that in 2022, they busted a vehicle on Interstate 65 carrying 14,000 fentanyl pills. Though numbers changed monthly, Loving said activity is constant.

So far, the department has seized 18 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as 30 pounds of marijuana and over $300,000 in cash.
