Realtors Association of Southern Kentucky’s Legislative Breakfast
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Several state and local leaders gathered for the Realtors Association of Southern Kentucky’s Legislative Breakfast. Many of these leaders are running for reelection. On a state level, many representatives will be going into the next session, and things won’t be easy. However, having the ability to communicate with local leaders who see the need to act daily can make a difference for many citizens.
“We find it really important that we stay in touch with our legislators, our local leaders, so that we can keep a dialogue open to how we can best serve our communities,” Gabby Springs, the 2025 president, said.
Connecting with the Bowling Green and Warren County communities on matters that include transportation, infrastructure, and housing doesn’t just apply to south central Kentucky.
“We share some of the same successes, but we also share some of the same challenges,” Steve Bratcher, State Representative 25th district and a real estate broker, said. “So I wanted to get an insight into some of the challenges that are going on here and how they’re handling them here.”
In the age of technology, interacting face to face can lead to a greater understanding on a state and local level.
“To come together to talk with this industry. And so we can share things. And I think there’s so much and so much importance to be able to have face to face meetings so you can build those relationships,” Judge Executive Doug Gorman of Warren County said. “Then again, hear from your constituents what’s important to them, and talk with them about the things you’re working on. I live here.”
The meaningful relationships built, won’t just impact the people who are in the county now. It will also impact generations to come.
“Fastest growing community in the state,” Kevin Jackson, State Representative for district 20 said. “350 to 400 new people move into Bowling Green in Warren County every month. So it’s just that’s where we get our satisfaction. I’ve got kids, four little grandkids growing up in this community and I want the best for them and all other kids and people growing up in this community, and I want the best for them and all the kids and people growing up in this community.”
