Rand Paul stops in Simpson County at GOP picnic

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Sen. Rand Paul made an appearance alongside other top GOP figures from the Commonwealth in Simpson County on Saturday.

The Simpson County Republican Party hosted a picnic event at the Loving Chapel Stables in Franklin.

Paul was there to introduce Republican nominee Daniel Cameron, who also spoke to those in attendance.

News 40 asked Paul for an update on the status of his new official campaign office after his original one was burned down in a fire on July 21st.

“We now have our temporary space over by The Hub, and that’s probably where our permanent space is going. The government’s complicated and somebody has to sign some contracts. I think that’s ultimately where we’re gonna be… As long as it gets finalized, I think it takes a month or two to prepare the office for us. I think within a couple of months we’ll be in,” he says.

Paul also addressed the recent political ad featuring Gov. Andy Beshear’s daughter, saying he believes the footage was released when Beshear was promoting masking up during the pandemic.
