Rand Paul names Small Business of the Week in Morgantown, provides update on campaign

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – Today, News 40 caught up with Republican senator Rand Paul in Butler County as he was recognizing the Small Business of the Week.

Paul also released his first ad of the campaign season today.

News 40 asked Paul what message the new ad will deliver to voters.

“We believe that our rights come from our creator, that the job of government is to protect our liberty and that liberty is something that’s naturally ours,” said Paul. “You know, we get it from our God and that we’ll keep persevering.”

As for whether or not we can count on a debate between Paul and his democratic opponent, Charles Booker, Paul says it will “depend on the tenor of the campaign” but will probably take place in a month or so.
