Quarterback battle heating up for WKU Football

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Game one against Alabama is just over one week away, and the Tops don’t have just one but two capable quarterbacks to lead WKU on the field this year.

TJ Finley and Caden Veltkamp have both shown out this offseason, and as the battle for that starting spot heats up, WKU Quarterbacks Coach Drew Hollingshead spoke on how valuable it is to the team to have two guys as talented as Finley and Veltkamp on the roster.

“I think those two guys being the premier guys we have in that room, I think is not only good for them for each other, but good for our team too. So, coaching them, you know, them two make it easy to coach them because they’re such good players and good kids. But I think our team kind of feeds on that too,” Hollingshead said. “They’re different leaders in how they speak and how they talk to everybody, but just great individuals and really passionate about the game and their teammates. And, you know, it’s been really cool. It makes my job a lot easier. “
