BEE SPRING, Ky. – A man is facing multiple charges after a police pursuit last week in Edmonson County.

According to a uniform citation, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched on Sept. 16 to a call of a reckless driver all over the road.

Deputies say upon locating the vehicle, they attempted to pull the driver over when the driver then began traveling on the wrong side of the road at speeds up to 80 miles per hour.

The citation says the vehicle reached the Edmonson County and Gray County line, where it crashed into a paint truck that was pulling out of a driveway down the road. Deputies say the truck was occupied by four people.

The driver, identified as Ronald Johnson, 68, was taken out of the vehicle.

Johnson admitted to “doing multiple drugs” before EMS transported him to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, deputies say.

Johnson was later arrested and charged with reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, first offense.

He remains at the Hart County Jail.
