Public recognizes Stand for Children Day
BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Tuesday marks the 22nd annual Stand for Children Day in Warren County, and a ribbon cutting was held Monday to prepare for Tuesday’s festivities.
On Stand for Children Day multiple Bowling Green organizations come together for one day to raise awareness about the needs of children in the area.
For the ribbon cutting at Bowling Green Ballpark, a proclamation was read making June 17 through the 21 as Stand for Children week.
Over 50 vendors are participating in the event Tuesday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
The volunteer and outreach coordinator of community education, Joshua Smith, explained what he’s looking forward to about the day.
“We hope that children will come out and interact with something new, that it livens a passion in them that will carry them on throughout the rest of their lives,” Smith said.
Stand for Children will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
