Protesters boycott Anna’s Greek Restaurant

Restaurant allegedly hosted controversial event

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the second time in less than a week, the BG Freedom Walkers joined together to protest in downtown Bowling Green Monday night.

The group marched from the Warren County Public Library to Anna’s Greek Restaurant.

What led to all this?

An officer involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor was invited to speak to the Republican Women’s Club of South Central KY.

After the original venue canceled the event, the group allegedly rescheduled the event to take place at Anna’s Greek restaurant.

Restaurant goers say they were outraged that the event was able to take place which led to this protest.

BG Freedom Walkers founder Karika Nelson said, “We’re standing up for no hate no racism and no bigotry here in our own city, in our community…. Even if [the restaurant owner] didn’t know whenever the reservation was made, you could have refused service. You could have kicked them out. But you didn’t. So you’re still held responsible.”

No response yet from restaurant owner Vilson Qehaja.
