Prosecutor in triple homicide case pursuing death penalty for Joseph Carey

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The prosecutor in a Butler County case is pursuing the death penalty in a recent triple homicide.

On Jan. 19, Kentucky State Police were called to assist the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at a scene on Lonnie Snodgrass Road where three people had been shot to death.

At the scene, police found Lupe and Charles Mcgranahan and Angela Carey dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Angela’s estranged husband, Joseph Carey, was sitting outside of the home and was charged with three counts of murder, according to police.

Now, Commonwealth’s Attorney Blake Chambers is pursuing the death penalty for Joseph Carey.

Chambers told said it is the prosecutor’s decision on whether or not to pursue capital punishment.
