Promising news about southern Kentucky’s real estate market
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The real estate market in southern Kentucky is doing better than most other areas in the state, according to the Kentucky Realtor’s Association.
At a meeting Wednesday hosted by the Realtor Association of Southern Kentucky, representatives from the state level said the area is among the top in the Commonwealth when it comes to growth and performance.
Seven counties fall under the Realtor Association of Southern Kentucky, including Warren County.
In those seven counties, as of May 31, there were over 1,100 home sales in 2019. During the same time period last year, there were just over 1,000.
Geography has a lot to do with the promising news, due to the area’s close proximity to Nashville, Louisville and I-65.
The president of the Realtor Association of Southern Kentucky, Martin Jones, expects the trend to continue.
“We have seen some explosion over the last three years,” Jones said. “I think we’re stable right now. We are still strong. Our inventory is holding and it has over the last four or five years. It’s not maybe where we want it, but we are certainly better than a lot of areas in the Commonwealth.”
Jones said in recent months, his organization has also seen a boost in the number of realtors operating in the area
