Proclamation for National Hunger and Homelessness awareness at City Hall
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-A proclamation ceremony took place at Bowling Green City Hall today to bring awareness to homelessness and hunger.
Bowling green Mayor Bruce Wilkerson along with City Commissioner Dana Beasley-Brown read the proclamation declaring November 16 through the 23 as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week.
The goal of the proclamation is to bring awareness to the various organizations in the community looking to put an end to homelessness and hunger.
Representatives from Life Skills, Barren River Area Safe Space, Room in the Inn, and Hotel Inc. came to witness the proclamation.
“It’s important to make sure that the community knows that there are organizations that are working on this. Sometimes, people want to do something to help, and they don’t really know what to do. These organizations are throughout our community,” Wilkerson said.
A hunger and homeless awareness walk is taking place tomorrow at Circus Square Park at 10 A.M.
