Pre-filed bill would raise minimum wage in Kentucky

A minimum wage hike is once again being considered in Kentucky after one lawmaker has pre-filed a bill to raise it to $15/hr.

The bill, filed by State Senator Reginald Thomas, proposes to raise the minimum wage every year until 2026, when it would reach $15.

The increases would begin as soon as next year, with wages increasing to $8.20 in 2019.

The bill would also raise the hourly rate for tipped employees to $4.90 per hour by 2022.
