UPDATE: Evening storms cause additional power outages

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Several counties are experiencing power outages as severe weather sweeps across the local area.

10:13 a.m.

According to Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation’s website,  nearly 1,100 members in Logan County are without power.

In Butler County, 569 members are listed without power, while 445 are impacted in Simpson County and 16 are impacted in Warren County.

11:15 a.m.

Warren RECC’s website now lists 6,000 members without power in Warren County.

The remaining local members impacted include 1,900 in Edmonson County, 1,200 in Logan County, 778 in Butler County, 568 in Simpson County and 41 in Allen County.

1:45 p.m.

Warren RECC says there are a total of 6,300 without power. Crews are continuing to respond and make progress. Bowling Green Municipal Utilities says it is down to 1,800 customers without power and six broken poles.

11:07 p.m.

Sunday night’s storms have caused an additional 12,900 members to lose power, Warren RECC says.

11:37 p.m.

BGMU confirms a transmission outage was caused from multiple cars striking poles on Cumberland Trace. It has not been confirmed if there are any injuries at this time.
