Positive COVID-19 case numbers rise in multiple south central Kentucky counties
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Multiple counties saw an increase in positive COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to the Barren River District Health Department.
Warren, Butler, Allen and Simpson Counties saw the boost.
As of Friday evening, here are the latest totals:
Statewide: 1,693 (+242)
Statewide deaths: 90 (+11)
Warren County: 42 (+5)
Simpson County: 15 (+1)
Butler County: 11 (+1)
Edmonson County: 6
Allen County: 5 (+1)
Logan County: 4
Barren County: 3
Hart County: 1
WNKY has also learned that the second person to die from COVID-19 in the area covered by the Barren River District Health Department was a 77-year-old man from Butler County.
On Friday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced a total of 90 deaths in the state from the coronavirus. He also said 271 individuals remain hospitalized and 464 people have recovered.
