UPDATE: Pedestrian dead after being struck by vehicle on Nashville Road

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident call at 11830 Nashville Road on Tuesday at 6 pm.

According to witnesses, a man who left Dollar General walked into the roadway of the northbound lane of 31W. They say several vehicles swerved to miss the man as he walked directly into the traveling portion of the roadway.

Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower says a vehicle was unable to stop and struck the man.

Witnesses at the scene performed life-saving measures until first responders arrived.

Bowling Green EMS transported the man, and he later died due to injuries sustained in the collision.

He has since been identified as 57-year-old Paul Horacio Caputto of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Authorities say Caputto’s next-of-kin has been notified.

The investigation is ongoing.
