Police respond for reported shots fired during Russellville block party

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Police are investigating after a report of shots fired Sunday during a block party in Russellville, Kentucky.

According to a release by the Russellville Police Department, officers responded for a disturbance near East Sixth Street and Edwards Avenue, where a block party was being held.

Police say while responding, they heard shots fired, and dispatch also received calls regarding shots being fired from multiple locations.

Due to a large crowd, police say no suspects have been identified at this time.

The investigation revealed one person was robbed and had minor injuries during the event, but police say this was not related to shots being fired. Police say no other injuries were reported.

No other details will be released at this time, according to police. The investigation remains open.

The Russellville Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
