Police pursuit leads to arrest of Smiths Grove man in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Smiths Grove man is accused of fleeing police on September 6, 2024.

Allen County Scottsville Crime Task Force detectives say they saw a vehicle parked in the Port Oliver Boat Ramp believed to be involved in a robbery in Smiths Grove.

Detectives say the vehicle left the parking lot and detectives attempted to make a traffic stop.

The operator of the vehicle, Michael Bryington, 25 of Smiths Grove, did not comply with the traffic stop and led detectives on a pursuit for several miles.

Byrington then stopped his vehicle and detectives were able to place Bryington into custody with assistance from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Scottsville Police Department.

Bryington is charged with speeding 20 mph over limit, fleeing or evading police, 1st degree, disregarding stop sign, wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer, and no operators-moped license.

Bryington is lodged at the Allen County Detention Center.
