Police investigating shooting in Hopkinsville, suspect in custody

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – The Hopkinsville Police Department (HPD) is investigating a reported shooting incident.

According to a release, officers responded to the 3600 block of Velma Drive after receiving reports of a shooting Monday at approximately 10:41 pm.

Officers say they located one individual who was suffering a gunshot wound. The victim was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment. Officials say the victim is in critical but stable condition.

HPD placed the suspected shooter into custody at the scene, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing.
