Plano Fire Department receives grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Back in Warren County, the Plano Fire Department is getting funds thanks to a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
The more than $13,000 donation will help the department buy new fire hoses and nozzles to replace old equipment.
Since 2005, the Foundation has awarded more than 7,000 grants totaling over $100 million nationwide.
Plano Fire Chief Kevin Bailey says he’s grateful for the support especially at a time when the department needed it most.
“Our budget here is limited based on dues that we take in from the property tax bills and the amount of money we receive is kind of limited. So getting grants like this definitely helps us to get newer technology, newer equipment and all of that… and get some of the older stuff out of service,” he says.
Bailey also adds this new equipment will help make sure the Plano Fire Department is ready to answer the call with proper equipment when needed.
