Plano Baptist Church holds blood drive with the American Red Cross

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As the need for blood increases this holiday season, Plano Baptist Church, along with American Red Cross, held a blood drive Tuesday afternoon.

Blood donations are being accepted until 5:30 p.m. at the church located at 600 Plano Richpond Road.

Members of the church and community attended to give blood and help the Red Cross as they are in need of blood this time of year. Those who donated were also given a free American Red Cross T-shirt.

There aren’t as many donations around this time of year due to illness and holiday travel, which can lead to canceled appointments. This causes a problem as the need for blood is year round.

More local blood drives are coming up, including Wednesday, Dec.  31 at The Holiday Inn University Plaza and Sloan Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be another blood drive in Logan County on Friday, Jan. 2 at the Lewisburg Church of Christ from 12:30 to 6 p.m. at 128 Main St.
