Places to Park during the Light up Bowling Green Weekend
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- As downtown Bowling Green continues to grow, parking in the area remains a hot topic. City officials are ready for a busy weekend ahead and expect thousands of people to attend BG Lights Up and Saturday’s Christmas Parade. Some will walk to these events, but if you’re driving, you may be wondering where to park.
Telia Butler, the downtown development coordinator says, “We get this question a lot, so here about a year ago, we put together a downtown parking map and it shows all the government-owned and run free lots and street parking.”
Butler also tells us, there are over 1200 places to park downtown: including free street parking on college free parking at Circus Square Park Warren County Justice Center and many other places. On the other hand, parking lots that are not government owned, may have signs with labels that say, “NO PARKING” “PRIVATE PROPERTY” or small QR Codes that say “Pay to Park”.
There are many places to park when you visit downtown. To find the best place to park and to avoid being towed, visit https://www.bgkydowntown.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Downtown-Public-Parking-Map-7.19.23.pdf.
